Canada Greener Homes Grant

Up to $5,000

For homeowners installing solar on existing primary residences. Requires a pre- and post-retrofit EnerGuide evaluation. Apply at canada.ca/greener-homes.

Agricultural Clean Technology (ACT) Program

Up to 50% of costs

The most valuable program for Canadian farmers. Covers solar panels, battery storage, and precision ag technology for registered farm businesses. Maximum $2 million. Apply at agriculture.canada.ca.

Class 43.2 — Accelerated Capital Cost Allowance

100% write-off year 1

Businesses can write off the full cost of solar equipment in year one. At a 26% corporate tax rate, a $100,000 system generates $26,000 in tax savings immediately. Consult your accountant.
